• A ticket at the right time

Are you a planner?? I'm not but I do like to see the big picture before making any big decisions. Life doesn't always give ya the full field view though. As Martin Luther King Jr said "Faith is taking the first step even when you don't see the whole staircase." In the same way that a dad traveling with his kids keeps their plane tickets until its time to board, what if God is asking us to trust Him to give us what we need, when we need it? Exhale. We don't have to figure out the whole plan, we just have to be willing to take the first step. As Max Lucado shares in his book Traveling Light " Meet todays problems with todays strength. Don't start tackling tomorrows problems until tomorrow. You don't have tomorrow's strength yet"

Have you been on social media over the weekend? I've been trying to avoid it because it's been so full of people arguing, debating or bad news in general. It gets overwhelming at times and you start to wonder...is there anything good happening in the world? Found THIS ARTICLE about 30 random acts of kindness that really filled my soul, that reminder that there are good people doing good things. All hope is not lost!

    Is That You God?

    Monday, February 19, 2018

Have you ever had the feeling that God is really trying to tell you something? For me is usually happens when a verse or something keeps popping up in different situations and it finally clicks, "hey I think God is trying to tell me something." A few weeks back it was Psalm 103 and now it's Psalm 37:23, "The LORD directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives."

A friend and I were talking over the weekend about how God directs us. In the moment it's easy to feel like he is not paying attention and later you look back and see all he was doing. Now I'm hearing that verse over and over again at work. It's funny because there are so many times I get so concerned I'm making the wrong decision or stressed because I don't understand why things are happening the way they are. Then God reminds me that HE is directing our steps. It may not always be the way we want it to be, but God is doing what only God can do, now we (or I) need to trust that he knows what he's doing, even when it feels like my world is falling apart. Easier said than done. - Mike
